Ulster Heights Vintage Postcard - Down The Stream
From: Ulster Heights General
This restored vintage postcard features a bucolic scene of a man in a hat fishing in a creek across from a large lone tree. The caption reads "DOWN THE STREAM, ULSTER HEIGHTS, N.Y."
Mailed in August 1907, the addressee is difficult to discern but appears to read "Mrs Helen Markle 9 Nettacahorts Ulster (?) N.Y." A message was originally scrawled at the bottom: "From Cousin Edith, To Mary" (removed during restoration). The wobbly writing suggests an elderly sender - perhaps Cousin Edith herself.
When you send this postcard, will you keep it equally brief, or give your recipient a few more details?
The image of the original back is shown here for historical interest only. Your postcard will arrive with a restored blank back, ready for you to pen your own message to a friend or family member.
