Welcome to Ulster Heights General
Ulster Heights General is a small country store nestled in the rural beauty of Ulster Heights in upstate New York, just outside the Catskills. We're in the process of lovingly restoring the historic building you see in the background (the one on the right) a cherished icon of the community that will soon become our brick-and-mortar home that has stood on that location for well over 100 years.
You can help support our renovation efforts by shopping in our online store. We offer a small selection of of handmade and unique items perfect for country living and thoughtful gift-giving. From hand-crafted pine cone fire starters to embroidery kits, retro pens, and soy candles from our Happy Place Collection, each item is chosen with care.
Our first "original" products is a collection of carefully restored vintage postcards that tell the story of Ulster Heights from the early 1900s through the mid-20th century. Each postcard is a window into the past, featuring scenes of our Methodist Church, Botsford Brook, the General Store itself, and the pastoral landscapes that have defined this area for generations. These aren't just reproductions - they're pieces of history. From the wonderfully cryptic messages penned by Margaret Bauchens in 1909 to Ethel's dry humor about not "engaging in the occupation" of fishing in 1914, each postcard carries the authentic voices of those who came before us.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a postcard collector, or simply someone who appreciates the charm of small-town Americana, we invite you to explore our collection and take home a piece of Ulster Heights.
