Ulster Heights Vintage Postcard - The Bridge
From: Ulster Heights General
In this restored vintage postcard, a man in a hat looks down from the Botsford Brook bridge with the original Ulster Heights Country store building to the right and the farmhouse on the hill to the left. The caption reads "THE BRIDGE, ULSTER HEIGHTS, N.Y."
Postmarked in Ellenville on September 9, 1906, this is the oldest view of the original building we've found. It was addressed to "Miss Marian Montross Greenfield Ulster Co. N.Y." with a simple, heartfelt message: "I will not forget you Marian"
Who was this sender, and what was their relationship to Marian? The solitary figure on the bridge and the earnest promise make us wonder. When you send this postcard, will you make an equally heartfelt declaration, or keep things light?
The image of the original back is shown here for historical interest only. Your postcard will arrive with a restored blank back, ready for you to pen your own message to a friend or family member.
